Cashier

Position Overview

The Cashier role is essential in delivering quick, courteous, and precise service to customers. Responsibilities include handling checkout and return transactions efficiently and ensuring the Self-Checkout area is well maintained and supervised. Cashiers are encouraged to deepen their product and project understanding to better assist customers and identify potential sales opportunities.

Key Duties

• Process checkout and return operations accurately and safely.
• Maintain and oversee the Self-Checkout stations.
• Actively acquire product knowledge to inform and assist shoppers.
• Adhere strictly to store policies to reduce loss and shrinkage.

Head Cashier Responsibilities

• Lead cashier team by assigning positions on the floor.
• Facilitate price verifications and approve Point of Sale activities including markdowns and special service transactions.
• Manage escalated customer service issues effectively.
• Support training and coaching of new and current cashier staff, using all available resources to enhance their skills.

Qualifications

While entry-level Cashier positions are available, the preferred candidate for a Head Cashier role has at least one year of cashier experience.
