About iRocket
iRocket, officially Innovative Rocket Technologies Inc., is focused on creating fully reusable and fully autonomous small launch vehicles aimed at transforming access to space. As the company grows its operations and partnerships, it seeks a dedicated Business Development Manager to spearhead strategic growth efforts, nurture client relationships, and acquire new commercial and government contracts.
Role Overview
This position uniquely combines aerospace innovation with customer relationship management and strategic business execution. The Business Development Manager will define how iRocket engages with launch customers, government bodies, and industry collaborators, converting the company's vision into concrete achievements.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover and cultivate new business prospects across commercial, civil, and defense sectors within the space industry.
- Oversee the entire business development process, from identifying leads and managing pipelines to negotiating and finalizing contracts.
- Maintain robust relationships with essential stakeholders, customers, and partners.
- Create and present compelling presentations, proposals, and responses to solicitations such as RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, SBIR/STTRs.
- Work closely with internal teams including engineering, finance, and strategy to ensure alignment between customer needs and company capabilities.
- Support the formation of strategic partnerships, collaborations, and discussions around MOUs or joint ventures.
- Track and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and relevant space industry policies.
- Represent iRocket at industry conferences, events, and networking platforms.
- Participate actively in strategic planning and contribute to initiatives aimed at long-term company growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA or technical degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years' professional experience in business development, sales, or strategy roles; prior work in aerospace, defense, or technology sectors is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success managing significant partnerships or contracts.
- Knowledgeable about government contracting procedures, proposal development, and funding mechanisms involving agencies such as NASA, DoD, and DARPA.
- Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and presentation.
- Ability to build and sustain trustful relationships with both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial spirit suited to a fast-moving, mission-focused startup environment.
- Strong analytical capabilities and strategic mindset.
