Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for enabling our Third-Party Advisers (TPAs) with the expertise and resources needed to effectively recommend our products. Your role includes expanding the TPA network and solidifying Generate's position among them.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand the third-party adviser network by identifying and engaging new and current TPAs, businesses, and related groups.
- Deliver product and sales training programs to advisers to ensure comprehensive knowledge of our offerings.
- Assess the needs of distribution partners and provide tools and insights to help them grow their business with Generate.
- Represent Generate actively at conferences and events across New Zealand.
- Conduct detailed market research to track industry trends, shifts, and new opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing and internal teams to formulate effective strategies promoting our services through distribution channels.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven background as a Business Development Manager, Relationship Manager, or Sales Executive in Financial Services or a corporate setting.
- Experience collaborating with advisers, third-party channels, or distribution partners.
- Successful history of achieving and exceeding set targets, proactively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Capacity to travel within your assigned regions when required.
- Skills in mentoring, coaching, and inspiring team members towards shared objectives.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities for building rapport, resolving queries, and delivering training to advisers.
- High emotional intelligence to understand and address advisers’ needs and motivations.
- Adaptability to change and innovation in problem-solving.
