Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for enabling our Third-Party Advisers (TPAs) with the expertise and resources needed to effectively recommend our products. Your role includes expanding the TPA network and solidifying Generate's position among them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand the third-party adviser network by identifying and engaging new and current TPAs, businesses, and related groups.
  • Deliver product and sales training programs to advisers to ensure comprehensive knowledge of our offerings.
  • Assess the needs of distribution partners and provide tools and insights to help them grow their business with Generate.
  • Represent Generate actively at conferences and events across New Zealand.
  • Conduct detailed market research to track industry trends, shifts, and new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and internal teams to formulate effective strategies promoting our services through distribution channels.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven background as a Business Development Manager, Relationship Manager, or Sales Executive in Financial Services or a corporate setting.
  • Experience collaborating with advisers, third-party channels, or distribution partners.
  • Successful history of achieving and exceeding set targets, proactively pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Capacity to travel within your assigned regions when required.
  • Skills in mentoring, coaching, and inspiring team members towards shared objectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities for building rapport, resolving queries, and delivering training to advisers.
  • High emotional intelligence to understand and address advisers’ needs and motivations.
