BIM Lead

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced BIM Lead to join our engineering team based in Loughrea, County Galway. This permanent role involves leading the management of CAD and model-based design outputs, ensuring all engineering projects deliver high-quality and coordinated drawings and models across Ireland and the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the BIM office within the engineering department.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance in drawing production aligning with company standards.
• Coordinate design models and drawings collaboratively with engineering teams to achieve precise outputs.
• Supervise and support CAD technicians and design personnel.
• Review design drawings and models to confirm constructability and completeness.
• Maintain drawing registers, manage revision control, and uphold documentation standards.
• Collaborate with the Digital Delivery/BIM team to align project deliverables.
• Assist engineers in producing coordinated layouts and design information.
• Identify and resolve design coordination challenges effectively.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Between 5 and 10 years of experience working with CAD/BIM within engineering environments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Well-versed in engineering drawing production and coordination processes.
• Experience supporting multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong focus on detail and quality assurance.
• Capability to manage work across different projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in water, wastewater, or infrastructure-related projects.
• Prior experience managing or mentoring CAD/BIM staff members.
• Awareness of project documentation systems and workflow management.
