Role Overview
The Bar Supervisor / Senior Mixologist will lead the efficient daily bar operations while ensuring outstanding beverage services. This position blends practical mixology skills with leadership responsibilities to maintain top-quality service, operational excellence, and adherence to brand standards. The role involves mentoring the bar team, creating innovative cocktails, managing inventory, controlling costs, and helping meet revenue and guest satisfaction goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee smooth bar operations across all shifts and maintain consistent beverage service quality.
- Ensure compliance with opening and closing protocols and hotel policies.
- Support departmental objectives under the guidance of the Bar Manager.
- Keep the bar clean, organized, and attractively presented at all times.
- Deliver personalized and exceptional service to guests, efficiently handling inquiries and complaints.
- Engage and build rapport with recurring and VIP visitors.
- Create and update signature cocktails and seasonal beverage menus while ensuring preparation and presentation excellence.
- Stay updated on beverage trends and integrate new ideas into offerings.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Lead, train, and motivate bar staff on beverage knowledge and service standards.
- Convene daily shift meetings and promote a positive, teamwork-oriented environment.
- Manage inventory levels, assist with procurement, track stock usage, and implement cost controls.
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, responsible alcohol service, and safety regulations to provide a secure environment.
Qualifications
- Preferably hold a diploma or certification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Mixology, or a related discipline.
- Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in economy or luxury hotels, upscale restaurants, or premium bars.
- Prior supervisory experience is beneficial.
- Comprehensive understanding of cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and current beverage trends.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
