Role Overview
As a Surgery Scheduler at OrthoArizona, you will play a vital role in organizing and coordinating surgical procedures. Your responsibilities include arranging and adjusting surgery schedules, conveying important information among patients, staff, and physicians, verifying and recording patient information in medical records, and ensuring all necessary surgical equipment, personnel, and anesthesia are properly coordinated. You will also manage physicians' calendars, respond promptly to patient calls and inquiries, update patient data, prepare surgery packets, and help train new team members.
Qualifications
To be successful, you should have familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to understand and deliver training on practice management software with a commitment to learning software updates. You must adhere to standard operating procedures at all times.
Minimum and Preferred Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one year of experience in medical scheduling is necessary.
- Experience specifically in surgery scheduling of two years is preferred.
