About The Salvation Army Supportive Housing

The Salvation Army's supportive housing programs offer safe, temporary accommodation for whānau seeking long-term housing solutions. During their stay, residents receive comprehensive support from experienced professionals to meet immediate needs and explore future opportunities.

Role Overview

The Supportive Housing Property Coordinator will drive the mission of The Salvation Army by managing property services for transitional housing. Responsibilities include acquiring and maintaining properties, overseeing tenant support during transitions, ensuring housing quality, and supporting procurement and lease management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to occupants during their transition in and out of temporary housing.
  • Maintain homes in a clean and welcoming condition.
  • Supervise rent collection and payment processes.
  • Assist with sourcing and retaining suitable properties for transitional housing.
  • Uphold The Salvation Army’s mission and Christian values in all duties.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and organizational policies.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse individuals and collaborate effectively within teams.
  • Previous experience in property management or tenancy coordination is preferred.
  • Background in social service or caregiving fields advantageous.
  • Highly organized with strong administrative capabilities.
  • Effective problem-solving orientation focused on practical solutions.
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure with flexibility.
  • Possession of a clean full driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and attentive listening skills.

Work Hours: Full-time fixed-term position (1 year), Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, total 40 hours per week.

This role includes participation in a rotating on-call roster providing after-hours support as per organizational policy.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
