Senior Java Software Engineer

Overview

We are looking to hire a seasoned Senior Java Developer responsible for the full lifecycle of designing, developing, and maintaining robust microservices tailored for digital banking and enterprise solutions. This position demands proficiency in modern Java versions, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, Oracle databases, as well as CI/CD pipelines and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Create scalable, secure, and efficient Java applications.
• Build and maintain microservices with clearly defined boundaries and robust inter-service communication.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and their contracts, ensuring security and high performance.
• Leverage Spring Boot 3.x for implementing business rules and creating maintainable, production-quality code that adheres to coding standards.
• Develop and optimize Oracle database queries and utilize Spring Data JPA with JPA Specifications for data persistence.
• Write unit tests using JUnit 5 and Mockito, conduct integration tests, and ensure comprehensive code coverage.
• Handle source control with Git and support CI/CD pipelines using Maven for building multi-module projects.
• Deploy applications on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Microsoft Azure; enable automated deployment workflows.
• Provide production support by investigating incidents, debugging issues across applications and databases, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring system stability.
• Engage in peer code reviews, maintain detailed technical documentation including API references, and uphold compliance with software development standards.
• Collaborate extensively with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Infrastructure teams within Agile delivery frameworks, including active participation in sprint planning and backlog refinement.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields.
• A minimum of 9 years' hands-on experience in Java development, specifically with Java 17/21 (Java 25 experience is a plus).
• Demonstrated experience in building enterprise-grade microservices and working in Agile environments.
• Experience in maintaining applications in enterprise production environments.
