Position Overview

Parsons is seeking a talented Public Relations Officer based in Qatar to coordinate communication among internal and external stakeholders for a specific construction project. This role primarily involves managing public relations issues related to construction activities and ensuring smooth stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve conflicts, feedback, and complaints from the public and residents concerning inconveniences caused by construction projects.
• Maintain open communication channels with the public, residents, government entities including municipalities, Ministry of Interior, traffic police, embassies, and other relevant parties on matters related to public relations within the project scope.
• Translate emails and documents with accuracy, ensuring source text meaning is preserved.
• Handle all correspondence between clients and site teams effectively.
• Collaborate with technical staff to clarify points requiring further explanation.
• Proofread and edit translated materials to produce well-formatted and grammatically correct final documents.
• Conduct routine and ad hoc visits to residents affected by construction work, compiling reports and feedback for clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate closely with construction supervision teams to reduce public inconvenience.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness by understanding Qatari customs and practices.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the role as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of overall experience in public relations and communication, including a minimum of 3 years dedicated to public customer service roles.
• Proficient typing skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
• Fluent in both English and Arabic (written and spoken), possessing strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Computer proficiency with capability to use design software.
• Ability to manage and perform effectively under stressful conditions when addressing public complaints.
• Experience working professionally in Qatar is essential.
