About the Role
Join eShepherd, a cutting-edge livestock management technology company based in Hamilton, New Zealand, supported by Gallagher. This is a unique opportunity to contribute as a Product Reliability Engineer, linking real-world farming environments with engineering development to enhance the reliability and performance of global IoT solutions for farmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed investigations into product reliability and performance issues across eShepherd's international platform.
- Analyze warranty data, customer feedback, and field insights to develop permanent product enhancements.
- Drive root cause analyses that produce long-lasting solutions rather than temporary fixes.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, and Customer Success to prioritize and execute improvements.
- Create and maintain reliability reports aiding engineers in data-driven product decision making.
- Provide support for regional Service Engineers and On-Farm Technical Support teams with complex investigations.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives by advancing systems and processes.
- Occasionally travel internationally to assist in field investigations and collaborate with local teams.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Engineering degree or comparable technical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving with a hands-on approach to root cause analysis.
- Experience with hardware, electronics, IoT devices, or connected products.
- Confident use of technical data, warranty statistics, and customer insights to detect trends and suggest improvements.
- Strong collaboration skills across multiple departments.
- Adaptable, curious mindset and excellent communication abilities in dynamic environments.
- Prior exposure to AgTech, manufacturing, or product development is advantageous but not mandatory.
