Laundry Attendant

About the Role

Hotel Equities, an award-winning hospitality development and management company, is hiring a Laundry Attendant for Tru by Hilton in Bracebridge, Ontario. This position focuses on handling hotel linens and guest laundry with accuracy, care, and a strong service mindset.

What You'll Do

• Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textile items.
• Treat stains using the proper cleaning methods.
• Carry out small sewing and mending tasks when needed.
• Maintain records to ensure items are matched with the correct owner.
• Monitor stock levels of detergent, sewing supplies, and other laundry materials.
• Keep track of equipment upkeep, maintenance needs, and repair follow-ups.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry area at all times.
• Respond helpfully to guest questions, issues, and service concerns.
• Provide or manage tokens and change for laundry machines when required.

What We're Looking For

• A high school diploma or equivalent is considered an advantage.
• Previous experience in a comparable laundry or housekeeping role is preferred.
• Comfort using laundry chemicals, cleaning products, and laundry equipment.
• Ability to remain standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Strong organization and time management abilities.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Friendly, service-oriented communication style.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends.

Additional Requirements

The role calls for a genuine interest in helping people and delivering quality service. Clear communication with guests and team members is important. Reading skills are used frequently for paperwork and for recording issues, complaints, requests, and updates. The job also involves problem-solving, reasoning, motivating others, and supporting training as needed. A flexible schedule is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
