Overview
Join Qatar Airways as an IFEC Quality Specialist within our Product Development and Design team, contributing to the innovation and ongoing enhancement of inflight entertainment and connectivity products that redefine passenger experience in aviation. This role is based in Doha and offers the opportunity to work alongside industry experts shaping future airline technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor performance portals and supplier dashboards for all inflight connectivity systems across different aircraft, tracking service status, performance metrics, and incident logging.
- Produce in-depth monthly and quarterly reports analyzing bandwidth consumption, user session patterns, system uptime categorized by aircraft, supplier, and route.
- Evaluate supplier compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), identifying and escalating issues regarding key performance indicators to management and vendor contacts.
- Develop and maintain data dashboards and automated reporting tools (e.g., PowerPoint presentations) to visualize IFEC quality metrics, usage insights, and refund case statistics for management review.
- Conduct routine quality assurance checks on IFEC portals, including aspects such as Wi-Fi login success, content accessibility, digital menu accuracy, and user interface responsiveness across fleets.
- Perform functional tests on new or updated digital features on the passenger portal to verify deployment success and report bugs or inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with Aircraft Engineering teams to gather technical feedback and support maintenance activities to sustain and improve IFEC functionalities.
- Coordinate with suppliers to communicate technical findings, monitor service performance, and document performance review meetings with action items.
- Liaise with cabin crew and flight operations to disseminate information on upcoming portal updates, digital menu changes, and connectivity constraints.
- Engage with Customer Care to collect passenger feedback, analyze refund claims related to connectivity failures, and compile monthly issue resolution reports identifying causes and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate internally with departments such as Marketing to obtain required digital assets or operational input for portal or supplier system updates.
- Review and validate connectivity suppliers’ invoices, ensuring alignment with actual service delivery and SLA compliance while flagging discrepancies to support finance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, test outcomes, change logs, and supplier communications to support audits and performance benchmarking.
- Stay updated on emerging IFEC technologies, satellite and wireless communication innovations, and digital enhancements to inform system improvement recommendations.
- Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps, proposing enhancements, and assisting in trials or evaluations of new suppliers or features.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of four years relevant experience.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Experience working with SLAs, performance dashboards, and supplier portals.
- Knowledge of inflight connectivity technologies and digital passenger platform systems.
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude demonstrated by attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of aviation safety regulations, compliance standards, and data protection policies.
- At least two years of direct experience handling IFEC systems in airline or aviation communications environments.
- Familiarity with leading IFEC suppliers including Panasonic, Thales, Viasat, or SITAONAIR.
- Experience with aircraft systems and the operational context where IFEC solutions apply.
- Certifications or training in data analysis, quality management, IT systems, or related fields.
- Background in supplier performance management, contract oversight, or SLA enforcement.
- Acquainted with regional connectivity regulations encompassing coverage and data usage limitations.
