About the Role
We are looking for two personable and professional individuals to join our Visitor Services team on a full-time permanent basis. This role involves working weekends plus three rostered weekdays. Located at one of Auckland's leading cultural and heritage venues, you will be the welcoming face for visitors, ensuring they have an engaging and safe experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with visitors to create a positive museum experience.
- Conduct tours and assist with delivering public programs, including popular holiday activities.
- Support education initiatives and special events within the museum.
- Manage sales processing, record keeping, and stock management at the Museum Shop.
Requirements and Eligibility
Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and enjoy engaging with visitors. An interest in Naval or Military History is favorable, as is prior experience in the tourism or museum sectors. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand and able to obtain and maintain the mandated NZ Government security clearance.
The Navy Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Royal New Zealand Navy, emphasizing its significance both nationally and internationally.
Additional Information
- The security clearance required is Low level.
- Applicants must be New Zealand citizens who have lived continuously in NZ for at least five years or citizens/residents of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA with continuous residence for the last five years.
- A clean and verifiable background is mandatory for security clearance approval by the NZ Security Intelligence Service.
