Food Service Worker

Job Summary

Join our team as a Food Service Worker responsible for supporting cafeteria operations in a school setting. This full-time role involves preparing and serving meals to students and staff while maintaining a sanitary, safe, and welcoming food service environment.

Primary Duties

• Prepare and serve food items following prescribed recipes, production guidelines, and health safety standards.
• Keep kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Stock and replenish serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers as needed.
• Adhere to proper procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation to ensure freshness and compliance.
• Serve meals courteously to students, personnel, and visitors.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and organizing kitchen inventory efficiently.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal as required.
• Follow local, state, federal, and company health regulations meticulously.
• Support team members by assisting or covering shifts when necessary.
• Submit required reports and meet deadlines related to food service operations.
• Undertake additional responsibilities to support the kitchen team and school meal programs.

Required Qualifications

• Preferred previous experience in food service or custodial roles.
• Strong work ethic and effective collaboration skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks following established routines.
• Basic proficiency in math and computer use.
• Successful completion of background checks and fingerprint screening.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Enjoyment of working with children and contributing to a school community.
• Professional, respectful, and inclusive interaction with all coworkers and customers.

Physical and Work Environment

• Ability to stand for entire work shifts.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Routine bending, reaching, walking, and use of hands.
• Exposure to moderate kitchen noise and a fast-paced workplace.
• Work schedule typically Monday to Friday full-time, with some possible extended weeks.
• Occasional participation in company meetings or events may be required.
