About the Role

Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver based in Clay Cross, England, where you will play an essential role connecting customers with their groceries and bringing excellent service directly to their homes. Our delivery driver positions offer a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same, delivering satisfaction with a friendly smile and professional attitude.

Shifts are scheduled within specific availability windows during the week, with three weeks' notice provided for work times. We value flexibility and are open to candidates whose availability closely matches the outlined times. Guaranteed hours are at least 16 per week, but we also welcome applications for a minimum of 12 hours weekly.

Work Schedule

• Monday: 09:00 to 19:00
• Tuesday: 17:00 to 22:00
• Wednesday: 13:00 to 22:00
• Saturday: 13:00 to 22:00

Payment Details

The starting hourly wage for this role is £14.18, increasing to £15.45 for deliveries within the M25 area. Additional payments may be available depending on location.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van and trays.
• Ensure the yard area is tidy and free of rubbish, including litter collection.
• Follow tray washing procedures diligently.
• Load the delivery van appropriately and check its roadworthiness before departing.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding any order changes, substitutions, or refunds as necessary.
• Handle products and deliveries carefully, treating them as your own.
• Deliver orders promptly within the customers' scheduled time slots.
• Contact customers ahead of early arrivals and notify the store if running 30 or more minutes late.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driving licence held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
• Adhere fully to the GB Domestic Driving Rules.
• Develop strong working relationships with team members to foster a positive workplace culture.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming attitude towards customers and colleagues alike.
