Job Overview

The Cashier serves a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring transactions are handled swiftly, courteously, accurately, and securely. Responsibilities include managing checkout and return processes and overseeing the Self-Checkout stations. They actively pursue knowledge about products and projects to assist customers with information and identify opportunities for sales. Strict adherence to store policies and procedures is essential to reduce inventory loss.

Head Cashier Responsibilities

The Head Cashier takes on additional duties such as assigning Cashier roles, supporting them by accelerating price verifications, authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various registers and service areas, including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They act as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns and contribute to the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates by helping onboard new Cashiers and utilizing all available coaching tools to develop team skills.

Qualifications

Ideally, candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working as a Cashier.
