Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Career Advisor to provide professional career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up support to program participants eligible for workforce initiatives. This role involves guiding individuals toward employment and training goals, overcoming barriers, and maintaining accurate, compliant case records. The position reports to the Program Manager and is fully onsite in the Greater Memphis Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver case management and information services to community members seeking workforce support.
- Complete participant intake and determine eligibility for workforce programs.
- Assess jobseekers’ employment history, skills, and training needs via interviews and assessments.
- Act as a liaison connecting workforce programs with community partners and resources.
- Manage client data entry and documentation in workforce information systems (WIT).
- Assist jobseekers in developing Individual Employment Plans aligned with their career goals.
- Stay informed on labor market trends and best practices for career development and training.
- Provide guidance on job opportunities, available training, and services.
- Refer participants appropriately and follow up on engagement with services and employment.
- Conduct orientations, workshops, job clubs, and group presentations for clients.
- Support participants in removing employment and training obstacles.
- Adhere to all eligibility documentation policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain thorough and compliant case files in the WIT system.
- Meet program performance benchmarks and participate in trainings, meetings, and supervisions.
- Complete required reporting in the data management system.
- Approach daily tasks with a proactive and innovative mindset.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills and familiarity with community resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make thoughtful decisions.
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel; ability to master specialized databases and software.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with a diverse clientele.
- Capable of serving as a role model and motivating clients toward goal attainment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals.
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of WIOA and workforce program requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, proactive, and confidential work environment.
- Exceptional time management to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities.
- Strong multitasking skills and a proactive work approach.
- Experience with WIOA, TANF, SNAP, and other workforce programs.
- Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practices, or whole family services desirable.
Additional Information

Salary
Salary ranges from $42,000 to $45,000 per year.
