About the Opportunity
We are looking for dedicated and safety-conscious Terminal Operators to join a busy bulk liquid terminal located at Port Botany. This role offers a great career start for those with trade qualifications, mechanical skills, or experience in industrial settings who want to advance in the bulk liquids and terminal operations sector.
No prior experience in terminal operations is required as comprehensive training will be provided. We value dependable candidates who have a strong work ethic, prioritize safety, and are eager to learn.
Key Duties
- Operate terminal equipment including pumps and valves associated with bulk liquids.
- Assist with loading and unloading of bulk liquid products safely.
- Perform routine inspections and operational checks on equipment.
- Monitor and promptly report equipment faults or unusual conditions.
- Carry out basic maintenance and maintain cleanliness in the terminal area.
- Accurately complete operational documentation as required.
- Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and operational protocols.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in shift work, including overtime and weekend duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on industrial machinery.
- Possess a trade qualification such as Mechanical, Electrical, Fitting, or Boilermaker; alternatively, experience within manufacturing, processing, logistics, mining, construction or heavy industries is highly advantageous.
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence.
- Capable of effective teamwork and communication.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive work approach.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems and operational procedures.
Preferred but Not Essential Credentials
- Forklift Licence.
- High Risk Work Licence.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications.
- First Aid qualification.
