Role Overview
The Tenancy and Property Officer is a frontline position dedicated to supporting the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's initiatives by delivering housing services tailored to individuals and families needing housing assistance or living in public housing.
Operating within a network of community partners and organisations, the officer works collaboratively to support vulnerable populations and enhance their wellbeing. This role is based in local offices across Victoria and encompasses a variety of tenancy and property management duties alongside guidance and assistance related to housing.
Primary Duties
- Manage tenancy and property matters including overseeing rental debt, conducting property inspections, handling maintenance requests, and resolving disputes.
- Evaluate clients' housing needs and provide informed advice on available housing options in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Prepare straightforward tenancy cases following standard procedures and represent the Department during hearings at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
Additional Information
