About the Position
This opportunity is with Cognizant as part of a key engagement with a leading global technology company specializing in enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and observability platforms. The role involves contributing to effective incident management at a large enterprise scale to ensure smooth operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for assigned incident cases within the queue.
- Investigate and analyze issues to identify root causes and formulate potential fixes.
- Reproduce problems in controlled environments for testing and verification.
- Maintain integration with monitoring and alerting tools to enhance incident responsiveness.
- Work closely with internal teams to obtain technical support and escalate incidents when necessary.
- Develop and revise knowledge base documentation based on troubleshooting findings.
- Engage in ongoing technical training to keep skills and product knowledge current.
Required Skills and Experience
- Practical experience working with Splunk On-Call (VictorOps) or equivalent incident management software.
- Familiarity with incident management frameworks and participation in on-call support rotations.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments, SQL databases, and fundamental networking concepts.
- Basic proficiency with monitoring tools, log data evaluation, and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience using IT service management tools like ServiceNow or JIRA.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, with the ability to manage customer interactions professionally.
Technical Expertise Desired
- Hands-on skills with Splunk On-Call (VictorOps) and Splunk Platform.
- Familiarity with monitoring technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Linux command-line and cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python and Shell scripting.
- Understanding of SSO, SAML, OAuth, SCIM protocols and PingFederate integration.
- Experience automating incident workflows is a plus.
