Job Profile
We are looking for a proactive and meticulous QHSE Officer to assist in implementing and sustaining our organization’s QHSE system. This role ensures daily compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards while fostering a robust safety culture throughout all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the application, acquisition, and upkeep of third-party certifications, such as ISO standards.
- Support both internal and external audits and ensure compliance with all QHSE requirements.
- Keep records related to certifications and compliance documentation up to date.
- Develop and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements (MS) alongside operations teams.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks to operators at yards and project sites, enhancing awareness of safety protocols.
- Monitor adherence to HSE policies daily at yard and project locations.
- Accurately report and document near misses, incidents, and accidents promptly.
- Assist in thorough investigations of incidents and ensure corrective measures are followed up.
- Ensure all safety permits and related documentation are properly maintained.
- Support the enforcement of QHSE policies, procedures, and work instructions and help update these documents to align with regulatory and internal standards.
- Identify hazards in the workplace and contribute to risk assessments and the implementation of control measures to mitigate risks.
- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections.
- Provide QHSE induction and awareness training and assist in coordinating safety, quality, and environmental training sessions.
- Encourage safe working practices among staff and contractors.
- Track QHSE performance metrics, such as incidents and inspections, and prepare reports for internal use.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and industry regulations relating to health, safety, environment, and quality.
- Keep abreast of legal and industry developments.
- Assist with emergency preparedness by implementing response plans and participating in drills.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying enhancement areas and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee contractor adherence to QHSE standards onsite and report any non-conformities.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Have 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in QHSE roles.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess robust knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and Safety Management Systems.
- Hold ISO Lead Auditor and First Aid certifications.
