Position Overview
The Kimberley Education Regional Office is hiring a dedicated Participation Coordinator for a permanent full-time role based in Kununurra, starting October 2026. This position involves extensive travel across the Kimberley region, including overnight stays and small aircraft travel to remote communities, to provide direct support to young people.
Key Responsibilities
The coordinator will manage an assigned caseload within the Kimberley Education Region, delivering individual case management and outreach support primarily for senior secondary students who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement. The role requires assessing youth needs, crafting personalized pathway plans incorporating career and transition development, and facilitating successful education, training, employment, or support service transitions.
Collaboration and Communication
Strong engagement is necessary with students, families, school leaders, external agencies, and industry partners. Maintaining robust networks across youth, employment, education, and training services in the area is essential. The role includes gathering and monitoring participation and progress data, reporting outcomes to encourage continuous improvements.

Eligibility Requirements
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa with work rights for the appointment duration
- Consent to Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and possession of a current Screening Clearance Number
- Current Working with Children Check
- Valid ‘C’ class driver's license
- Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays and small aircraft flights to remote locations
