Position Overview
This vital full-time day shift role supports continuous production by managing material flow efficiently through the floor, aiding smooth multi-shift operations. It suits an organized, proactive professional who thrives in collaborative environments focused on ongoing improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the movement and positioning of materials on the production floor, coordinating with planning teams to ensure work centers are supplied appropriately.
- Select, stage, and prepare necessary materials for upcoming work orders.
- Assist as a secondary resource with unloading incoming shipments.
- Conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in staging areas, following housekeeping standards.
- Support various facility operations such as basic maintenance, production assistance, and general labor across departments.
- Comply with all safety guidelines, including PPE use and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide supplementary help in machining, assembly, deburring, grinding, sawing, sandblasting, or shipping when needed.
- Engage in improvement projects aimed at optimizing workflows and production efficiency.
- Participate in training to enhance skills and adapt to evolving operational demands.
Requirements
- Background or familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or related production settings.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and comfort working with ERP systems.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, basic blueprints, and routing data.
- Proficiency with standard hand tools, basic power tools, measuring instruments, and material handling equipment.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
- Strong organizational skills with keen mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while respecting deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset interested in practical and efficient solutions.
- Certification for forklift operation.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
