Position Overview
The HR Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining workforce adherence to regulations and internal policies. This involves conducting systematic audits, accurate upkeep of employee files, timely employment verification, and continuous oversight of employment mandates, certifications, and licensure. This role directly supports regulatory preparedness, accreditation compliance, and risk management by ensuring employee records are precise, complete, and compliant.
Key Duties
- Audit and maintain personnel files to guarantee completeness and conformity with legal and organizational standards.
- Manage the retention, updating, and secure storage of essential documentation as per retention policies.
- Carry out scheduled and impromptu audits of personnel documentation and compliance data; track audit outcomes and facilitate completion of corrective actions.
- Assemble necessary documentation for internal and external audits, accreditation evaluations, and regulatory inquiries.
- Aid in organization-wide compliance and accreditation readiness within healthcare settings.
- Execute accurate and prompt employment and salary verifications respecting privacy and legal guidelines.
- Monitor licenses, certifications, credentials, training, and other employment prerequisites.
- Ensure all mandatory certifications, licenses, and training remain valid while notifying relevant parties of impending expirations or missing items.
- Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) processes, onboard new hires with documentation, and assess religious exemption requests.
- Perform additional assigned responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
