About the team

The House Services Team at Launceston General Hospital is committed to delivering high-quality cleaning support and maintaining a workplace that values diversity, safety, respect, and support for all staff.

The role

  • Keep the hospital, nearby buildings, and surrounding areas clean to a high standard, while following workplace health and safety rules, infection control procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Work carefully and manage priorities effectively in a busy healthcare setting where demands can change quickly.
  • Carry out a range of manual duties, which may include using ladders and operating different types of cleaning tools, equipment, and machinery.

Appointment details

This is a fixed-term casual position, with hours worked as required, starting as soon as possible for an estimated period of about 12 months. Hours will be arranged with the successful applicant.

For 12 months from the date this position was published, this recruitment process may also be used to appoint people into similar or related vacancies, including full-time, part-time, and casual roles.

Salary and benefits

The salary range is $59,668 to $65,185 per year on a pro rata basis, with an employer superannuation contribution of 12% added on top. The salary is aligned to the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.

If eligible, you may also be able to salary package benefits such as up to $9,010 for living expenses and $2,650 for meal entertainment each FBT year, along with other possible benefits.
