The team

Fleet Services is a statewide support unit that helps Department of Health and Tasmanian State Service staff access vehicles needed for day-to-day work. The team also keeps the fleet clean and safe so it is ready for end users, contributing to better health services for the Tasmanian community.

The role

  • Keep the vehicle fleet clean and ensure vehicles remain safe for drivers.
  • Carry out reception and general administrative tasks.
  • Manage the records, documents, and data connected with regional Fleet Services operations.
  • Work with staff, service providers, and support teams to help the Fleet Officer resolve fleet-related issues.

What you will need

  • A strong ability to maintain high cleanliness standards for vehicles, together with practical knowledge of the safe use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals, or the ability to quickly learn it.
  • Basic knowledge of minor vehicle checks and upkeep, such as monitoring water and oil levels, tyre pressure, and washer fluid, or the ability to quickly learn these tasks.
  • Experience with administration and front desk support, including confidence using software and database systems for data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and email or phone communication.

Employment details

This is a fixed-term, full-time day-worker position for 76 hours per fortnight. The assignment runs from 10 September 2026 until 28 July 2027.

Please note that for 12 months from the date of publication, this selection process may also be used to fill similar or subsequent full-time, part-time, or casual vacancies.

Salary

The pay range for this role is $68,854 to $73,947 per year, with an additional 12% employer superannuation contribution on top.

The salary range follows the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
