About Super Tomato and Role Overview
This position is with Super Tomato, a startup supported by SGInnovate. Originally focused on custom automation machinery for B2B clients, Super Tomato has expanded its capabilities into design and fabrication through its division Monster Builder. It now operates as a product-driven company creating proprietary hardware brands aimed at international scaling while preserving its strong engineering roots.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document detailed electrical system schematics, wiring layouts, and control diagrams essential for automated equipment.
- Specify technical requirements for components including sensors, motors, actuators, I/O modules, breakers, power supplies, and communication wiring.
- Execute prototype assembly, wiring verification, and functional testing as necessary.
- Develop control logic using PLC programming, preferably within Mitsubishi Electric's environment, and manage control architectures involving PLCs, single board computers, sensors, and actuators.
- Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and RS485 and collaborate closely with software development teams.
- Oversee on-site system testing and commissioning at customer locations to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Coordinate with suppliers by sourcing components, clarifying technical requirements, reviewing technical documents and quotations, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery aligning with specifications.
- Support bill of materials validation and vendor selection processes while monitoring supplier performance.
- Conduct research on new components and integration techniques, proposing enhancements to system architecture to improve reliability, safety, and performance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in electrical, electronics engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficient in reading and crafting electrical schematics using tools like AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Strong understanding of system architecture encompassing PLCs, SBCs, sensors, actuators, and mechanical subsystems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP and RS485.
- Experience in vendor interaction and coordination.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to assembly, motion systems, and tolerances.
- Experience with cost analysis, bill of materials alternatives, and supply chain aspects.
- Hands-on experience in machine wiring, control panel fabrication, or field commissioning.
- Background in industrial safety standards or familiarity with certification processes.

Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
