Customs Data Entry Agent

Role Overview

The Customs Data Entry Agent is responsible for ensuring full adherence to customs clearance regulations, enabling prompt and precise processing of shipments. This role demands strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage priorities within tight timelines, reflecting the express needs of DHL's clientele. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-focused, and collaborates effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit all customs pre-alerts punctually.
• Guarantee accuracy in submitting HSCODEs, goods' country of origin, quantity, weight, value, and currency during customs entry lodgment.
• File all clearances via the Mirsal 2 / B2G system by individual line items.
• Update shipments requiring special handling with correct preset ACA statuses or bond reasons.
• Ensure shipments needing regulatory approval are handed to supervisors for inspection endorsement.
• Adhere strictly to Gateway clearance procedures as defined in the GSOP manual to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and update reports and files promptly.
• Continuously update personal knowledge of customs regulations and logistics industry trends through self-learning.
• Use various Gateway applications including DUBAITRADE, DCE, DCC, ACA, CIA, GIA, and GDI.
• Work shifts on a 24/7 basis, covering day and night hours, including public holidays with compensation via alternative day off or overtime pay.
• Be flexible to operate across several Gateway locations such as JAFZ, DAFZ, SFZ, HFZ, providing own transportation as required.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Strong knowledge of UAE Customs codes and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferably a graduate or holds an equivalent qualification.
