Construction / Site Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee daily construction, civil work, site development, and quarrying operations at project locations in Pune, Maharashtra. The role includes managing manpower, coordinating contractors, monitoring excavation and earthwork, overseeing material handling, ensuring quality, safety, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil construction activities ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and instructions.
• Oversee excavation, earthwork, leveling, RCC, masonry, plastering, and finishing works.
• Coordinate closely with Site Engineer, Project Manager, contractors, and labor teams to ensure sequential workflow and timely task completion.
• Manage quarrying and excavation operations, including soil, murum, rock, and stone handling, ensuring safety and material quality at project and quarry sites.
• Supervise transportation and storage of excavated materials and aggregates while maintaining detailed machinery usage and material movement records.
• Deploy and coordinate heavy machinery such as JCBs, excavators, dumpers, loaders, and breakers, monitoring utilization and maintenance needs.
• Manage daily manpower deployment, monitor productivity and attendance, and liaise with labor contractors to assure sufficient resources.
• Coordinate material requirements with Purchase and Store departments, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing wastage of construction materials including cement, steel, sand, and stone.
• Ensure quality control adherence, supervise workmanship, and manage rectification of defective or unauthorized work.
• Maintain strict enforcement of site safety protocols, proper use of PPE, barricading, housekeeping, and accident reporting to uphold a safe work environment.
• Prepare comprehensive daily progress reports covering construction, excavation, quarrying, earthwork quantities, material consumption, machinery use, manpower deployment, contractors' work status, pending issues, and safety observations.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and equipment operators to monitor work progress, verify completion, and follow up on delays.

Requirements

• ITI, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field; substantial practical experience in construction or quarry operations also considered.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in real estate construction, civil construction, site development, excavation, earthwork, quarry or stonework, or infrastructure projects.
• Solid practical knowledge of civil construction processes, excavation and quarrying techniques, and material handling.
• Experience supervising heavy machinery operations including JCBs, excavators, loaders, and dumpers.
• Strong skills in manpower and contractor management, reporting, record-keeping, and site coordination.
• Safety-focused mindset with the ability to enforce site safety rules and handle outdoor construction environments.

• Performance indicators include progress tracking, machinery use efficiency, material wastage control, quality of workmanship, manpower productivity, contractor performance, and safety compliance.
• Location: Pune, Maharashtra.
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Monthly salary range: INR 15,000 to 25,000.
