Commissioning & Startup Lead

About the Role

Lead the startup and commissioning activities for various process systems including reformer furnaces, feed gas, steam, fuel gas, process air, syngas units, and related utilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversaw coordination between multidisciplinary teams such as operations, engineering, contractors, licensors, and vendors to ensure a safe and effective plant startup.
• Prepared and evaluated commissioning procedures, startup plans, testing documentation, operating manuals, and system turnover packages.
• Performed functional tests on control systems, safety interlocks, emergency shutdown systems, burner management systems, and process control loops.
• Supported critical operations including catalyst reduction, reformer furnace heat-up, steam purging, introduction of feedstock, optimization of processes, and validation of performance guarantees.
• Maintained strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, process safety management, and permit-to-work processes during all commissioning and startup stages.
• Engaged in troubleshooting to address process disturbances, equipment issues, and improve hydrogen and syngas production efficiency.
• Successfully transitioned commissioned systems to operations, confirming the achievement of design parameters for capacity, reliability, and performance.
