About the Role
Aldar Education is seeking a dedicated Arabic and Islamic Teacher for Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School, an American Curriculum mixed gender primary institution located in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that encourage student independence and enable academic progress to the fullest extent.
- Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders including students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to design curriculum-aligned and captivating lesson plans.
- Coordinate flexibly with colleagues and curriculum support teams to support the development of all students.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment with well-organized resources and motivational displays.
- Plan and execute lessons that accommodate a broad range of student abilities and learning needs.
- Perform ongoing observation and assessment in line with school policies, using data to refine teaching strategies.
- Engage with external professionals (e.g., speech therapists, educational psychologists) when necessary.
- Embed the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA values and language throughout teaching practices.
- Take responsibility for student progress by maintaining accurate assessments and providing timely feedback to parents during conferences and meetings.
- Manage classroom behavior according to school policy, acting decisively and serving as a positive role model.
- Participate actively in curriculum action groups and school events, including evenings and weekends when required.
- Use school communication systems effectively to update parents on student welfare and achievements.
- Contribute positively to the school's culture and mission beyond classroom responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic Education, Islamic Education, or a related field with an additional teaching qualification such as PGCE.
- At least one to two years of relevant teaching experience in Arabic and Islamic subjects.
- Experience teaching students for whom English is a second language is essential.
