Virtual Patient Access Coordinator

About the Role

Inizio Engage partners with a leading pharmaceutical company to facilitate patient access to prescribed medications by providing comprehensive service management. The Virtual Patient Access Coordinator acts as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacies to ensure seamless access to therapy by managing benefits investigation, eligibility verification, reimbursement support, and enrollment in assistance programs. The role demands strong empathy for patients, case management experience in healthcare, and proficient software skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary patient advocate to coordinate medication access, timely treatment initiation, training, and ongoing deliveries through health care professionals, payers, and specialty pharmacies.
• Identify and address individual patient needs and preferences to deliver a tailored, smooth experience encouraging treatment adherence as prescribed.
• Support patients and healthcare providers through prior authorization and appeal processes.
• Educate patients and providers on relevant payer policies to facilitate treatment initiation and continuation.
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation of patient coverage and case details within designated systems to ensure data integrity for clients and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare case management with knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terminology.
• Understanding of health insurance and prescription drug reimbursement processes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintenance of patient confidentiality.
• Experience in reporting Adverse Events and Product Quality Complaints.
• Adherence to program policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance guidelines.
• Exceptional case management capabilities.
• A strong passion for continuous learning and the ability to communicate that enthusiasm to others.
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and consistent follow-up practices.
• Ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a dynamic, culturally diverse work setting.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual base salary range between $49,000 and $91,000, adjusted based on experience, skills, internal equity, and business requirements.
