Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the daily operations within Sentence Management Services, working either inside a correctional facility or a designated hub location. The key responsibilities include managing prisoner engagement and assessment, preparing reports, and handling administrative duties related to lawful detention, court proceedings, and parole processes. Additionally, the role involves supervising small teams to ensure adherence to deadlines, legislation, and relevant departmental policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct prisoner interactions and assessments.
- Prepare and compose detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Perform administrative functions tied to detention, court appearances, and parole management.
- Oversee and coordinate service delivery and workflow of small work groups.
- Ensure compliance with relevant timeframes and legal requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Desirable: Understanding of the criminal justice system or similar regulated environments, or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
- Proven capability to manage a demanding workload with effective planning and organizational skills to complete multiple duties on time.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced problem-solving aptitude to identify issues and risks in prisoner management and provide effective resolutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail in drafting complex reports for various audiences.
- Experience supervising staff, establishing priorities, monitoring task progression, and devising localized strategies or operational workflows.
