Role Overview
WT New Zealand is expanding its Data Centre team due to increased activity with multinational technology clients. They seek an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage complex and mission-critical Data Centre projects, bringing strong cost engineering expertise with a preference for candidates having electrical or mechanical backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing intricate cost engineering for mission-critical projects.
- Collaborating effectively with clients, architects, and main contractors.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Developing master plans and feasibility budgets for projects.
- Conducting thorough cost evaluations of developing designs.
- Implementing value engineering strategies.
- Preparing detailed estimates and analyzing tenders.
- Negotiating contracts to secure beneficial terms.
- Managing project cash flows and procurement processes.
- Providing regular cost reports and final account summaries.
- Preparing, presenting, negotiating, and settling claims.
- Conducting investment analyses.
- Developing and applying benchmarking processes to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in cost modeling and planning.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Extensive expertise with cost estimating and planning software, particularly Cost X.
- Significant experience managing projects involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and heavy services.
- Proven success in securing and leading major projects.
- Experience managing mission-critical or similarly complex projects.
