Role Overview
This Darwin-based position seeks an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator proficient in contract management, procurement, and cost control within construction. Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, judicious decision-making, and adeptness at handling multiple priorities to support strong commercial outcomes on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle including tendering, award, administration, and close-out of principal contracts and subcontracts.
- Oversee subcontract package administration encompassing preparation, issuance, and compliance monitoring.
- Prepare, evaluate, and manage subcontract progress claims, variations, and final accounts effectively.
- Assist with head contract claim preparations ensuring accuracy and contractual alignment.
- Coordinate procurement processes including tender document preparation, subcontractor engagement, evaluations, and award recommendations.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and forecasts contributing to financial reporting and cost control.
- Identify, evaluate, and escalate contractual and commercial risks, supporting mitigation efforts.
- Maintain comprehensive contract records, registers, and relevant documentation.
- Compile commercial performance reports including cost tracking and procurement updates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote alignment and delivery success.
- Support resolution of contractual disputes, variations, and claims alongside senior team members.
- Contribute to a high-performance team while adhering to corporate standards and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related disciplines.
- Hold 3 to 5 years of experience in contract administration or similar roles within the construction sector.
- Have a sound grasp of contract management, subcontract oversight, and procurement workflows.
- Experienced in administering contractual variations, progress claims, and subcontract packages.
- Demonstrate commercial insight with competence in cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance review.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and organizational capabilities with great attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills enabling effective interaction with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Proficient with JobPac, Microsoft Office suite, and project management software.
- Able to identify risks, exercise sound judgment, and seek clarifications as needed.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments without sacrificing accuracy or accountability.
