Position Overview
The Research Assistant I will provide direct support to Clinical Research Coordinators to help achieve protocol-specific objectives while strictly adhering to ICH, GCP, protocol, and site standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update patient charts related to assigned clinical trials.
- Prepare materials for participant visits according to the coordinator’s schedule, ensuring availability and accuracy of all required documents, lab kits, and assessments.
- File lab results, EKGs, and communications in designated patient charts.
- Track inventory of study-specific supplies including lab kits and participant materials.
- Perform timely data entry and resolve queries for Case Report Forms within sponsor deadlines.
- Assist coordinators with clinical assessments like blood pressure and urine collection as needed.
- Communicate effectively with study participants, caregivers, vendors, and laboratories.
- Support coordinators with scheduling, copying, faxing, and other clerical duties.
- Help facilitate study monitoring visits and complete daily tasks assigned by coordinators.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Interest in and understanding of specific clinical study indications.
- High proficiency with computers and electronic equipment such as email, fax, and copiers.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous record keeping.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors and colleagues.
- Demonstrated initiative and keen attention to detail.
- Calm and effective response in emergency situations.
- Capability to interpret and adapt guidelines and procedures independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working Environment
- Indoor office setting.
- Job requires sitting, standing, typing, and walking.
- Light physical activity including occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Regular attendance as scheduled is critical.
Compensation and Schedule
The hourly pay for this position ranges from $20.00 to $21.50, based on education, experience, and skill set. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
