Overview
West Fraser's Opelika Sawmill is currently seeking a dedicated Reliability Technician to join their team. As part of a leading wood products manufacturer, this role involves maintaining equipment reliability to prevent downtime and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety and operational protocols established by the mill.
- Gather equipment condition data systematically to help avoid unexpected failures.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as monitoring fluid levels, applying lubrication, and assessing equipment health.
- Utilize advanced predictive technologies including vibration analysis, thermal imaging (infrared), and ultrasonic emission measurement for equipment monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven strong attendance and safety record supported by prior work experience.
- Background in industrial applications, showing familiarity with mechanical systems.
- Successful completion of the Mechanical Reasoning Assessment meeting minimum required standards.
Preferred Credentials
- Two-year technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience or training in condition monitoring and sensor technologies.
- Knowledge and proficiency in predictive maintenance techniques.
- Maintenance and Lubrication Technician (MLT) certification is an advantage.
