Overview
Concentra, a leading provider serving over 500 medical centers and 130 onsite clinics nationwide, is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care efficiently and compassionately. We're looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our team remotely in Texas, playing a key role in managing referral requests and facilitating authorizations, prioritizing excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary escalation point for case-related issues needing guidance.
- Efficiently process assigned patient referrals daily, meeting production targets.
- Review and manage Specialist referral requests from Concentra sites as per market guidelines.
- Obtain necessary authorizations for Specialist referrals and coordinate scheduling of appointments.
- Ensure referrals utilize appropriate networks and advanced Concentra Specialists when applicable.
- Provide payors with relevant documentation such as medical records and prescriptions.
- Maintain communication with payors, employers, patients, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Accurately document all required information using OccuSource’s OA/CR module according to company policies.
- Foster and maintain relationships with providers, employers, and payor communities.
- Identify and report trends or missed opportunities to team leads and supervisors.
- Follow departmental call handling procedures and participate in quality assurance activities including audits, case reviews, and training.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a resident of Texas and remain so throughout employment in the Referral Department.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- At least one year of relevant medical environment experience involving referrals, claims, insurance, or billing.
- Experience with Worker's Compensation is a plus.
- Proficiency with scheduling and insurance verification software.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Adherence to confidentiality standards including HIPAA and PHI compliance.
