Job description

About Lumion and Role Overview

Lumion serves as an all-encompassing operating system tailored for trade and technical schools, streamlining everything from AI-driven lead generation and enrollment to financial aid and tuition management. As the first dedicated product designer, you'll tackle the key limitation: determining and crafting excellent product designs. Your work will serve admissions directors, school owners, finance staff, and students involved in significant financial decisions within an industry marked by outdated software.

Key Responsibilities

You will take full ownership of product design across our platform, transforming feature requirements into polished user flows, interactive designs, high-fidelity interfaces, and clear engineering specifications. Your role includes fast production of clickable prototypes for feedback with actual schools before engineering development begins, building and refining a unified design system across diverse modules like lead management and payments, and crafting AI-driven interfaces that allow non-technical users to manage conversational AI agents effectively. You will also design intuitive student-facing applications, focusing on seamless interaction for enrollment, document signing, and financial transactions.

Working Environment and Approach

The role requires fluency with AI-enhanced design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma with AI features, Lovable, v0, or code-based prototyping like Claude Code). Design cycles are rapid and iterative with direct access to CEO and CTO decision-makers. This position is on-site in South Jordan, Utah, valuing fast, collaborative problem-solving.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has experience delivering complex B2B software featuring data-dense tools, multi-step workflows, and permissioned dashboards. Mastery of typography, spacing, hierarchy, and interface states (empty, error) is essential. You prioritize interactive prototyping over static mockups, treat interface text as an integral design component, and demonstrate fast learning and shipping ability over formal credentials.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with abilities
  • Meaningful equity options tied to company revenue growth
  • Performance bonuses connected to revenue
  • Company-provided MacBook Pro and AI design tools
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Health, dental, and vision reimbursement up to $537.50 monthly
  • $200 monthly technology stipend
  • $100 monthly wellness stipend

Additional Information

This role requires legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship for work visas is not provided. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Applications should include a portfolio link demonstrating shipped product designs and reflective insights on improvements. Cover letters are discouraged.
