Design Philosophy

Design lies at the heart of Pennylane’s mission, focusing on delivering seamless, accessible, and engaging user experiences across their Financial Operating System. The design team consists of over 40 product designers working collaboratively in interdisciplinary squads alongside Product and Engineering with autonomy, transparency, and trust as core values. Designers get involved in all stages of the product development cycle, from problem definition and research to testing and implementation.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Designer with solid experience in B2B product design to drive the evolution of our product in the German market. Ideal candidates are passionate about solving real user problems, thrive in a collaborative setting, and have a strong interest in understanding user behavior along with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and conduct user research investing time in analyzing user feedback, business needs, and data.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to continuously enhance your product domain.
• Create design solutions across various fidelities—from early concepts to detailed high-fidelity prototypes.
• Contribute your expertise actively, provide constructive feedback to colleagues, and engage in cross-departmental projects.
• Support team growth by participating in recruiting processes and mentoring new designers.
• Stay abreast of current UX and UI trends, applying best practices from the global tech community.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient in translating user research, market analysis, and data insights into practical design solutions balancing user needs and business goals.
• Experience designing complex digital products featuring multiple modules, extensive functionalities, or intricate data structures.
• Skilled in working closely with developers, product managers, sales, and support teams, integrating technical constraints and business objectives into design.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively and advocate for your design decisions.
• Fluent in both German and English, with regular user interviews conducted in German.

Recruitment Process

• Portfolio evaluation
• Initial 30-minute conversation with the technical recruiting team
• Design team interviews lasting 45 to 60 minutes
• Take-home design assessment with presentation and review
• Final interviews with the Chief Product Officer and Head of Product Germany
