Logistics Manager

Overview

A manufacturing firm seeks a Logistics Manager for their Cambridge, Ontario facility to oversee comprehensive logistics functions during day shifts. The position offers a salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics to guarantee on-schedule and cost-effective deliveries.
• Manage international shipping operations, focusing primarily on the U.S. market.
• Handle customs clearance activities, coordinate with brokers, and ensure adherence to CUSMA regulations.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and service contracts with carriers and brokers such as FedEx, DHL, and UPS.
• Supervise the transport of high-value and high-volume precision components.
• Keep precise inventory records and drive enhancements in tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Work closely with production and procurement departments to synchronize material movements with project timelines.
• Direct the preparation of shipping documentation, especially for international consignments.
• Lead and mentor logistics team members to fulfill departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in managing international shipping and logistics.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of CUSMA rules, customs clearance procedures, and import/export tariffs.
• Proven expertise managing cross-border shipments between Canada and the United States.
• Strong negotiation capabilities with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents.
• Excellent organizational skills coupled with attention to detail and adept problem-solving.
