About Richmond State Hospital
Richmond State Hospital is a historic public behavioral health facility located in northwestern Richmond, dating back to 1890. It operates under the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction and serves as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services. The hospital provides psychiatric and co-occurring disorder treatments to adults regardless of race, religion, gender identity, age, disability, national origin, or ability to pay. Services include individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy, rehabilitation therapies, and patient employment opportunities. The hospital emphasizes evidence-based medication management and collaborates across teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Primary Duties
- Clean restrooms, sinks, and mirrors thoroughly.
- Mop and apply wax to floors as needed.
- Dust and polish furniture to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Wash windows, blinds, and walls regularly.
- Manage distribution and restocking of paper towels, bathroom tissue, cups, and cleaning agents.
- Order, distribute, and properly store necessary cleaning supplies.
- Report any facility or equipment repair needs promptly.
- Maintain consistent attendance at assigned work sites.
- Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications and Abilities
- Familiarity with proper maintenance and operation of cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuums, power scrubbers, polishers, and buffers.
- Understanding of different cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and their appropriate use.
- Ability to comprehend and comply with both written and verbal instructions.
- Capability to assist in training new staff and completing associated documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Supervisory Role
This position may require supervising other employees depending on agency needs.
Compensation
The starting salary is generally $26,312 annually, with potential adjustments based on education and experience.
