Role Overview
The Food and Beverage Supervisor at 1887 works under the Assistant Manager to ensure flawless service delivery. This role involves leading a dedicated team to provide 5-star F&B experiences over approximately 45 hours a week across five days, maintaining a positive and enjoyable work setting, and surpassing guest expectations by offering personalized, memorable hospitality.
Key Duties
- Oversee guest F&B needs and ensure premium +1 service delivery.
- Lead the 1887 restaurant in the manager's absence, coordinating the team’s efforts.
- Address customer feedback professionally, swiftly resolving issues to enhance the dining experience.
- Anticipate and meet Forbes 5-star hospitality standards by delivering genuine interest and luxury service.
- Coordinate special guest requests with careful attention to luxury detail.
- Assist in hosting duties such as seating and serving, while maintaining the dining area’s cleanliness during busy times.
- Uphold consistent food and beverage service standards aligned with SOPs and Forbes guidelines.
- Keep updated on guest F&B requirements through communication with the office.
- Participate in and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings.
- Manage team rotas for effective productivity and note any breakages for stock control.
- Supervise cleaning, polishing, and quality checks of crockery and cutlery.
- Manage the kitchenette's cleanliness, supply ordering, stock takes, and waste reduction for cost efficiency.
- Restock breakfast and afternoon tea setups when necessary.
- Liaise with Operations and Assistant F&B Manager regarding daily changes or requests.
- Ensure 1887’s full compliance with all relevant legal requirements and safety standards.
- Maintain both physical and psychological safety on shift, monitoring and reporting incidents as needed.
- Train and develop the 1887 team to become top performers delivering exceptional guest service.
- Enforce appropriate staff appearance according to operational standards.
- Promote and monitor ESG practices during shifts to reduce energy use and waste, encouraging team involvement in sustainability initiatives.
- Clearly communicate ESG and Earth Check policies to team members, guests, and suppliers.
