Datacenter Security Operations Manager

As a Datacenter Security Operations Manager, you will oversee physical security operations at datacenters and related facilities in your region. You will work closely with vendor security personnel to ensure compliance with security standards, anticipate potential risks including life safety and business interruptions, and lead the development of strategies to mitigate and respond to those risks. Reporting on risk assessments and root cause analyses to stakeholders and leadership will be a regular responsibility.

This position requires working from a designated datacenter location within the assigned region and is part of the Cloud Operations & Innovation team responsible for delivering core infrastructure supporting Microsoft services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and enforce physical security policies and procedures at datacenters, ensuring vendor security guards have necessary resources to protect personnel, infrastructure, and data effectively.
• Independently analyze and detect security threats or alerts, escalating incidents to appropriate response teams or authorities and implementing security measures to protect company assets.
• Collaborate with datacenter operations, security systems teams, and stakeholders to maintain secure, uninterrupted operations fostering a unified team environment.
• Drive continuous improvements to security program maturity and efficiency through data-driven recommendations, resource optimization including budget oversight, and process automation.
• Handle escalations and notifications of security incidents promptly, keeping regional leadership informed and coordinating effective incident responses.
• Maintain readiness for 24x7x365 on-call duties and travel periodically within or beyond the assigned metropolitan area.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives to enhance security capabilities and assist leadership in risk identification and management relevant to Datacenter operations.
• Provide summarized risk analysis and reports to internal stakeholders and leadership with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Security Program Management or related fields.
• Must satisfy Microsoft and governmental security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and biennially thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Risk Management or related discipline coupled with 8+ years of relevant program management experience.
• Relevant industry security certifications such as CPP or PSP are advantageous.
