Customer Service Representative

Overview

U-Haul is seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join as Customer Service Representatives. You will be a key part of a helpful team, acting as the front face of U-Haul’s renowned service by assisting customers and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth journeys. This role includes hands-on training and uses current technology tools to handle rental dispatch and returns effectively.

Compensation and Incentives

At U-Haul, hiring and payment are prompt—you can start and receive payment the same day. A paid working interview is available, along with a $100 hiring bonus. Additionally, upon successful completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program, a $300 cash bonus is given.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide customer support inside and outside the U-Haul facilities for products and services
• Utilize U-Scan smartphone technology to oversee rental agreements and inventory
• Physically move and connect U-Haul trucks and trailers
• Perform cleaning and inspection duties on equipment, including fluid level checks
• Respond to customer inquiries and offer product/service guidance
• Issue rental invoices and process returned equipment
• Install trailer hitches and wiring
• Fill propane tanks (certification provided by U-Haul)
• Operate forklift (certification provided upon hiring)
• Carry out additional duties as assigned
• Engage in continual training through U-Haul University

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Completion of high school or equivalent

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

This position involves moderate hazards necessitating safety protocols and protective gear such as gloves, masks, or goggles. Physical activity includes standing for long intervals, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching various heights, and handling equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, sometimes without assistance.
