Claims Associate

Position Overview

The Claims Associate at Walmart Canada is vital to maintaining inventory accuracy and enhancing store profitability by managing damaged and returned products according to company policies. This role collaborates closely with vendors, fellow employees, and customers to secure appropriate reimbursements, uphold inventory controls, and contribute to seamless store functioning. A combination of meticulous attention to detail and excellent customer service ensures the safeguarding of company assets while supporting a positive environment for shoppers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently scan damaged and stolen goods to reduce losses.
• Prepare goods for return, vendor requests, recalls, and donations by completing necessary documentation, packaging, and timely shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe claims area by adhering to safety procedures related to lifting, ladder use, and chemical disposal.
• Comply with company protocols for handling damaged and recalled products; maintain up-to-date claims records and complete required paperwork to minimize chargebacks.
• Conduct assigned Customer Value Program tasks in accordance with established systems and procedures.
• Support other teams such as the Office Support Associate and Direct Store Delivery Associate as needed.
• Adapt to varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure consistent store operations and high-quality customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight hours.
• Plan and regulate work hours to maintain energy and focus through demanding shifts.
• Complete restocking and recovery tasks quickly and accurately, sustaining high standards during busy periods.
• Perform physical activities such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive duties including stocking, zoning, and organizing products with consistent attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.55.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
