The platform encompasses multi-model chat, intelligent routing, BYOK, subscription plans, team management, web search, media generation, mobile functionality, and a browser extension.

Role Overview

We seek a hands-on Chief Technology Officer who will take full responsibility for ownership, security, scalability, and ongoing development of the platform to prepare it for launch. This role combines leadership with active engineering, emphasizing product and technical strategy rather than solely advisory tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluate and deploy existing codebases for web, backend, mobile, and browser extensions.
• Integrate the strongest features by comparing transferred and current platforms.
• Enhance frontend, backend, APIs, and overall user experience.
• Fortify security measures, including authentication, permissions, BYOK protection, and multi-tenant segregation.
• Review and improve Supabase, PostgreSQL, Edge Functions, database migrations, and Row-Level Security policies.
• Advance AI routing, token tracking, model fallback mechanisms, and usage controls.
• Strengthen subscription management, billing workflows, team plans, and payment systems.
• Boost scalability, reliability, monitoring, backups, and deployment processes.
• Identify and address technical debt, security vulnerabilities, and performance challenges.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive technical roadmap.
• Lead internal developers, contractors, and external technical partners.
• Support enterprise clients, ensure technical due diligence, and prepare for compliance requirements.
• Maintain company ownership over code, infrastructure, and technical accounts.

Financial and Commercial Duties

• Model costs related to AI, hosting, databases, and infrastructure.
• Monitor user cost metrics, token consumption, and gross margin by plan.
• Contribute to designing sustainable pricing, token limits, and subscription offerings.
• Forecast technical expenses relative to user growth.
• Create technical budgets and assist in cash-flow and runway planning.
• Assess financial implications of new models, features, providers, and regions.
• Support investor presentations, board reports, and fundraising initiatives.
• Balance factors of product quality, security, performance, and profitability.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous roles as CTO, fractional CTO, founding engineer, or senior technical lead.
• Robust hands-on full-stack engineering expertise.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS or AI platforms.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, APIs, databases, and cloud deployment.
• Knowledge of Supabase, PostgreSQL, and secure multi-tenant architectures.
• Familiarity with AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or OpenRouter.
• Expertise in token metering, model routing, streaming, and rate limiting.
• Experience with subscription billing and payment integration.
• Solid understanding of security, authentication, encryption, and secret management.
• Capability to manage development teams and technical projects.
• Exposure to SaaS pricing models, unit economics, technical budgeting, and financial analysis.

Preferred Experience

• Background in AI SaaS or enterprise platform development.
• Experience with BYOK and encrypted credential storage.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, GDPR, or enterprise security certification preparations.
• Development experience with mobile apps and browser extensions.
• Involvement in white-label or B2B2C platform projects.
• Knowledge of usage-based or token-based pricing models.
• Support in investor due diligence or fundraising processes.
• Experience reviewing and integrating inherited or transferred codebases.

Initial Priorities

• Analyze both transferred and current codebases thoroughly.
• Deploy the transferred version in an isolated staging setup.
• Integrate with own database, hosting, AI keys, and payment sandbox environments.
• Test features including BYOK, Pro, Team, billing, tokens, Academy, and white-label functionalities.
• Conduct an initial assessment of security, scalability, and architecture.
• Recommend elements for retention, merger, enhancement, or replacement.
• Devise a prioritized technical roadmap.
• Build the first AI and infrastructure cost modeling.
• Commence authorized product and technical enhancements.
