Mindrift is recruiting experienced Full-Stack Web Application Developers proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript combined with Python or Node.js for participation in the Tendem project. This initiative focuses on creating interactive browser-based applications integrated within a hybrid environment combining AI and human collaboration. The role, known internally as an AI Pilot, involves working hand-in-hand with Tendem Agents that automate repetitive tasks while delivering full-stack engineering expertise, architectural insight, and quality assurance to deliver functional and reliable web applications for end users.

Role Overview

This freelance position entails the end-to-end design, development, and refinement of browser-based web applications. Projects range from habit trackers and budgeting solutions to internal dashboards, mini-SaaS platforms, and AI-enhanced tools. Tasks may also include creating independent Python applications and scripts that support or complement these web products.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop dynamic web applications utilizing frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, Vue, or equivalents, alongside backend APIs built with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) or Node.js frameworks (Express).
• Design and build data structures, database schemas, and persistence layers using relational (PostgreSQL, SQLite) or NoSQL databases.
• Implement authentication, session management, and role-based access controls as necessary.
• Integrate external APIs and AI/LLM services such as OpenAI or Anthropic to enhance product capabilities.
• Effectively manage state, validate user inputs, and address errors and loading indications in the UI.
• Create standalone Python scripts and utilities for purposes like data processing and lightweight backend functionality.
• Review and improve AI-generated full-stack code to ensure correctness, security, optimal performance, and maintainability.
• Produce clean, testable code and perform comprehensive debugging across frontend, backend, and databases.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' professional experience developing interactive full-stack web applications.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or closely related fields is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in full-stack engineering covering frontend frameworks, backend design, databases, and API development with a proven track record of independently architecting and launching complex features.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one contemporary frontend framework (such as React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte).
• Robust backend skills in Python (including FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js (Express, NestJS).
• Experience managing relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite and constructing database schemas.
• Practice with REST API creation, including request validation, error response handling, and authentication workflows.
• Familiarity with deployment services such as Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, or Railway.
• Bonus for prior work integrating large language models (LLM) or AI APIs within products.
• Comfortable with version control (Git) and fundamental testing methodologies.
• Detail-oriented, dedicated to delivering robust, production-ready applications rather than prototypes.
• Self-motivated professional capable of independently designing, developing, and releasing features.
• A portfolio showcasing launched web applications (mandatory).
• Proficient in English at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher.

Project Engagement and Compensation

The expected time commitment is roughly 10 to 20 hours weekly during active phases of the project, though actual workload may vary. This is a freelance assignment with hourly compensation potentially reaching up to $60 based on contribution level and speed. Rates differ among projects according to complexity and skill requirements.
