Job Overview

This full-time onsite position as a Cash Poster is based near Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately post daily deposits and investigate any exceptions.
• Apply payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts each day.
• Research exceptions related to checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers daily.
• Respond to departmental inquiries about payments and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.
• Reconcile electronic postings for applicable payers routinely.
• Conduct weekly reconciliation of unidentified accounts to prevent prolonged unidentified payments beyond 15 business days.
• Perform daily audits ensuring balance across lockbox, vouchers, live checks, and credit cards.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and educational seminars to enhance understanding and job skills.
• Promptly address emails and phone messages from staff and leadership.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent credential.
• At least one year of cash posting experience in a healthcare environment such as hospital, physician office, or similar.
• Minimum of one year of office experience involving high-volume and precise numeric data entry.
• Six months or more experience in medical billing or accounts receivable processes.
• Strong ability to perform mathematical calculations necessary for reporting tasks.
